Thanks out to RAW Design. Great collaboration.

This seems to come up quite a bit, so we thought it would be cool to show you how its done.

On condos brows, or fins, or basically an outcropping of metal or concrete is common. In some cases its the sheer wall being pulled out from the building.

This has two issues - how to make it look great as its such a visible feature, and how to avoid it being a thermal bridge.

At Cube Lofts we designed and built a cladding system outside the walls out of framing, insulation and fibre cement. Its stunning.

The same thing could be done in ceramic or porcelain and would be very construct-able.

But what else are they using out there:

- aluminum - too overused, and likely too expensive
- brick - really? likely too much labour, substructure to support it, ho hum look. Stuck with a metal sill.

So drive by Cube Lofts in Little Italy and have a look.

Cheers
